You will start to ask questions, wondering why this happened to you. You may try to spend time with people who have gone through something similar, so you will have hope and little bursts of joy.

You will start to get validation beyond belief, often triggering you back to rage and depression – but this cycle is healthy and to be expected. You are finally feeling what you were supposed to be feeling during the entire relationship.

Everything is starting to fall into place, and you can calmly and coherently describe what you went through and what happened. Instead of feeling the abuse, you can start to talk about it like a scientific term. You start to realize that you’ve almost made it, that there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel.
