sexual abuse

Physically, sexual abuse can include rape and forced sexual acts as well as withholding sex as a means of control. Non-physical components can include using sex as a way to classify or assign a value (whether it is the only thing that a person is good for). It can also be used as a means to judge an individual.

Includes: rape (forced penetration), sexual assault, sexual assault using an object, forcing sex with others or in front of others, making them watch or act out porn, videotaping or photographing sexual acts against their will, withholding sex and/or affection, name calling (whore, slut, etc.), forcing / criticizing / coercing of any type of sexual act, etc.

Did you know?: It wasn't until the early 1990's that marital rape was illegal in all 50 states. Many still assume that sex is an entitlement within a relationship.
